Smiggins is an easy 5.5 to 6 hour drive from Sydney via Canberra and Cooma or 7 hours from Melbourne with more than half the distance being freeway.

From Jindabyne, access to Smiggins is via Kosciusko Road. It's just over 30km and an easy half hour drive from Jindabyne in good weather.

Motorists are legally required to carry properly fitting chains in all vehicles excluding 4WD's in all "snow-ice" risk sections within the National Park.

Entry to the National Park is $27* per car per day. Annual passes are $190*. Passes can be obtained at the entry gates to the National Park.

By Air

Canberra International Airport is a 2.5 hour drive from Smiggins and a 40 minute flight from Sydney. The airport is located about 7 kilometres (10 mins) from the city centre.

Regular connections are available to and from Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth by both Qantas and Virgin Blue.

New for 2010

From June 2010 you will be able to fly directly to the Snowy Mountains from Sydney with Aeropelican.

Free Shuttle Service

A free shuttle service operates between Perisher Valley and Smiggin Holes.

Pick-ups are from the turning circle at Perisher Skitube Terminal and the metal bridge outside the Smiggins Hotel at Smiggin Holes. Shuttles depart approximately every 15 minutes.
